In Sumitomo Steel Plant in Japan, a 210t dephosphorization furnace and 2 decarburization furnaces combined with 2 KR desulfurization stations, 2 RH refining furnaces and 3 continuous casting machines are used as an example to build an efficient and fast-paced production platform. Its efficient and fast-paced clean steel production features are as follows:

First, all products are high-quality. Using 100% hot metal “three removal”, 100% fast rhythm production, 100% vacuum treatment of molten steel and 100% hot rolling of casting billet (≥850℃), the total amount of impurities in all products Σ[S+P+T.O+N+H]≤100ppm.

The second is to compress the auxiliary time and shorten the smelting cycle. Usually, the ratio of the auxiliary time of the converter and the blowing time is 1∶1, and the blowing time of the double converter is less than 10min, and the compression auxiliary time is less than 10min to ensure the 20min cycle. Speed up the production rhythm, solve the problem of insufficient heat of the decarbonized furnace, the cooling energy of 45 furnace steel per day is equivalent to that of the traditional converter, and the cooling energy of 55 furnace steel per day is increased by 7.2%.

The third is to establish a fast-paced production system centered on the converter. KR and RH whose production cycle is longer than that of converter are equipped with 2 equipment and 1 converter. When three continuous casting machines are produced at the same time, the continuous casting cycle is 1h, and when two continuous casting machines are produced at the same time, the continuous casting cycle is 40min.

The fourth is to shorten the turnover time of the molten iron tank, increase the turnover times, and increase the temperature of molten iron into the furnace by 46℃.

The fifth is to simplify the refining outside the furnace, improve the ladle turnover rate, and reduce the steel temperature by 30℃ compared with the traditional converter, and do not configure the LF furnace.

The establishment of efficient and fast-paced production mode has great economic benefits: first, improve the operation rate of equipment, reduce the number of equipment, reduce management costs; The second is to shorten the auxiliary time, accelerate the turnover of ladle (iron ladle), reduce the auxiliary energy consumption and the number of online ladle; Third, significantly raise labor productivity and reduce personnel costs.
