New Progress Achieved in the Construction of the 1780mm Hot Strip Rolling Project by Jinnan Iron and Steel Group!
# New Progress in Jinnan Iron and Steel Group’s 1780mm Hot Strip Rolling Project
On September 11th, as the sun rose in splendor and auspicious clouds filled the sky, the hoisting ceremony for the finishing mill housing of Jinnan Iron and Steel Group’s 1780mm Hot Strip Rolling Project was grandly held at Jinnan Rolling Mill. Liu Wenbo, Vice President of Rolling Steel of the Group, together with heads of relevant departments including the Equipment Department and the Safety Department, attended the event.
The smooth installation of the finishing mill housing this time is not only a crucial milestone in the project construction, but also marks the official entry of the rolling line into the equipment installation phase, laying a solid foundation for the advancement of subsequent production. As the core project of the Group’s first-phase “relocation from urban areas to industrial parks” initiative, the 1780mm Hot Strip Rolling Project has aggregated high-quality resources from multiple parties and is built to become an industry benchmark with high standards and high configurations. Among them, the core equipment of the rolling line is designed and manufactured by China First Heavy Industries, the automatic control system is designed and commissioned by University of Science and Technology Beijing, and the equipment installation project is undertaken by China MCC19 Group. The strong collaboration among multiple parties ensures the construction quality and efficiency of the project.
In terms of hardware configuration, the project demonstrates remarkable strength: it is equipped with three walking-beam type double-regenerative reheating furnaces, two reversing roughing mills, a hot coil box, seven finishing mills, and three coilers, with special process lubrication facilities also installed. The combination of this series of advanced equipment can fully meet the rolling needs of ultra-thin specifications and special-grade steel, cover a wide range of product types, and accurately match the diversified production demands of downstream enterprises, highlighting the project’s advanced design concept and strong production potential.
It is understood that after the full-line commissioning of the project, it will inject multiple strong impetuses into the development of Jinnan Iron and Steel Group. Firstly, it will significantly optimize the Group’s product structure, drive a leapfrog improvement in product quality, and help the Group seize opportunities in the high-end steel product market. Secondly, it can enhance the connection efficiency of various production processes within the Group, further amplify the advantages of large-scale production, and reduce comprehensive production costs. Thirdly, the project will also generate significant economic and social benefits—not only expanding the development space for the enterprise and improving its market competitiveness, but also exerting a far-reaching impact on the pattern optimization, supply-demand balance, and high-quality development of the coil plate market in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and even the entire North China region.
The construction of this 1780mm hot strip rolling line is a key measure for Jinnan Iron and Steel Group to practice the concept of high-quality development and promote industrial transformation and upgrading, as well as an important practice for the Group to assist in the optimized layout of the regional steel industry and realize green and low-carbon development. In the future, Jinnan Iron and Steel Group will continue to be driven by technological innovation, take high-quality projects as the starting point, and contribute solid strength to the high-end, intelligent, and green development of China’s steel industry with better product supply and stronger industrial strength.
